Brenna's Baptism

What a special day it was for Brenna's baptism. It was so nice to take a break from reality and focus on the spiritual things. Brenna had a very nice baptism with her dad baptizing her and her dad, grandpa's and uncles confirming her. Nana gave the best talk I have heard on the Gift of the Holy Ghost, comparing it to lightning, lighting the way in the dark before baptism, and a flashlight after baptism. Kasie gave a great talk on her diving nature, comparing her to Princess Repunzel. The room was filled with family and friends. We felt overwhelmed with love when Bishop Nielsen asked each group to stand to demonstrate all the people that are their for her throughout her life.  We had Vinces at our house after. It was a windy windy morning but was perfect for our dinner after. With Grandma Moses about to pass away, us moving, and Nathan selling his business, there is a lot going on. I am grateful for the eternal perspective the gospel brings to give us the peace we need and focus on what matters most. I am so grateful for a Savior, Jesus Christ that led the way and gave us an opportunity to be forgiven of our sins and live with Heavenly Father again. I am so proud of Brenna for the person that she is and I hope she never forgets the covenant she made on Saturday.

Air show this weekend! Loved it--girls were not the greatest fans but liked the bungee thing- they used their own money for:). Nathan was sick:((. I survived my talk thanks to many prayers. First time in Relief Society was great- thanks to Sister Nielsens amazing lesson on teachings of Ezra Taft Benson-putting the Lord first above all else. Pfister's through an amazing  dinner party for me yesterday! 2 Sunday's in a row of no cooking! Who hoo and Paula made Carmelita's! Yum! A friend from our ward in Kona passed away-- Sandy Feduik. She was a mother of 3 beautiful children, aunt to many nieces and nephews, sister to one of our favorite families there, daughter and friend. It's heart breaking to see all the people who will miss her so. I am reminded again that life is short and the Lord has a plan. I like the poem by president Hinckley,
What is this thing that men call death, this quiet passing in the night,
it's not the end but genesis, of better worlds and greater light.
O God, touch Thou my aching heart
And calm my troubled, haunting fears.
Let hope and Faith, transcendent, pure,
Give strength and peace beyond my tears.
There is no death, but only change,
With recompense for vic'try won.
The gift of Him who loved all men,
The Son of God, the Holy One.

Happy Birthday to Brenna and Brandon!!!

She is 8 and great!! Brenna asked for custard for breakfast, cheeseburger for lunch and a turkey dinner for dinner. We went rock climbing with all the pfister cousins and McCoys and dear and grandma and Gammy on sat. Thanks to Brooke who insisted she do something fun for her birthday! I am exhausted from Christmas and thinking of her baptism. So she can thank her auntie for a party. She got lots of presents everyone and from nana and grandpa and got to FaceTime. Brenna still loves horses and really wants lessons. Her baptism is January 24th. Wahoo. She loves scriptures and apples, texting now, riding her bike, playing, loves her family and church and her treasures and stuffed animals in her room, games, and friends.  She loved her teacher Mrs. Mendez. She doesn't love oranges or not being picked to go to lunch early or green hair. She sometimes has unexplainable tummy aches. We just love Brenna. She always has nice kind loving things to say to me. She makes great scramble eggs!
