Happy Easter!!

So grateful today for this family. I stayed up late making orange rolls- and was wondering if it was worth it. But this morning, they loved them. Is there anything better than orange rolls?  Brooke-you inspired me. Thanks for the recipe. I used a different overnight roll recipe, but the spread and glaze from yours.
Then, the four cute girls in there dresses marched over to 2 neighbors houses to give them some and I just loved watching them. They love to give stuff to the neighbors. Anyways, when we got home from church, there were eggs everywhere in our front yard. The girls went crazy. Was it from our neighbor or the Easter Bunny? The girls think from the Easter Bunny, but I wonder:). So sweet. Church was great. I love singing all the Easter songs. We watched all the Bible Videos from the triumphant entrance of Jesus to the Resurrection for our 5th Sunday and it was really sad and wonderful watching all that Christ when through for us. But then that He Lives. Then, talking to Gpa Dalton, how they went to Grandma's grave and put flowers on it, it really brought the meaning of Easter to life also. So sweet that they did that. Love that he has cousins close to him. Happy Easter Everyone. So grateful you who read this (family)!! xo

We found a toad!!

Dallas found this toad in the pool filter! They loved holding it! We have been spending lots of time in the backyard. Matt (Nates Dad) set us up with some awesome blackberry and raspberry plants. It's so fun to try new things and learn about planting. I love spring and Easter is my new favorite holiday. After Grandma Dalton died, it just has a whole new meaning for me. It just seems do personal to have this hope of resurrection because of Jesus Christ.

The Zoo

The girls loved petting and brushing the goats at the LA Zoo petting zoo. That was probably their favorite part of the trip. And seeing Brooke, Paisley, and Ivy there too! Layla got to see them feed the elephants up close. Her favorite stuffed animal is an elephant so she loved that. Later on at home she kept saying "favorite elephant". That was the last animal of the trip and the other girls didn't even want to see it . Sadie just sat on a bench and told us she was done. We do not last that long on outings:). But fun day and tired them out real well.

Grandma Moses 80th Birthday party

It was a great party and we loved hearing the great stories of her life! So fun to celebrate a great and full life! She looked beautiful. Great food. We especially loved hearing the Dallas and Brenna and Abby sing there for 70 plus guests! So proud of them! We also loved having Nathan's cousin and family stay, Lindsey, Brandon and Harper.

Tomorrow it's a week.

Well, Sadie has made it a week post surgery. She still is in lots of pain when her meds wear off but her voice is much quieter and she complains that people are too loud! I think that means the ear tubes were a success. We are staying home mostly bc they say a week after surgery is the highest risk for bleeding. And she goes and lays down often bc she is hurting so she isn't up for a whole lot.
Layla and the girls love the extra Popsicles we have around. This past weekend, we heard Sister Reeves from the general relief Society and she spoke about how God cares about the details of our lives and is ready to help if we petition him in prayer. Then she brought up ladies who talked about their trials- from losing children to being divorced, or autistic kids and they told how they got through their trials. Really good meeting. My goal after that meeting is to smile at my kids more and play with them more, so they really feel loved.
We also got out saturday night for girls night with the sister in laws for manicures for kasies birthday. That was fun!

Dallas started reading the Percy Jackson books and loves them. Brenna started her first magic treehouse book. Layla's new favorite book is barnyard dance. Not sure who gave it to her but we love it! Sadie likes any book, but we have been watching way too many Barbie movies since Sadie has been sick. The girls love them. That is an understatement!

Update

Here are some of the latest pictures! Last weekend we went to a waterfall in the snow. This weekend, the girls swam in 80 degrees. For the most part we haven't had any runny noses for a few weeks. This winter that is a record! Nathan surprised all of us on valentines with pink wrapped gifts. It was a fun surprise. Dallas has almost finished with her first Suzuki violin book. She posted her practicing on you tube! Brenna loves to read now! It's amazing how fast they catch on. Now they are working on writing at school. Her teacher always tells me she is way ahead if the rest. She would rather stay home though. She tells me she doesn't want to go to school almost every day. Sadie is in her last week of fun before her tonsils are taken out on Wednesday, and tubes placed in her ears. Everyday she has problems. I hope this fixes it. Nathan has been busy with his practice, working really hard. Layla lives to swing and play outside. We went to the beach and now everyday she says " beach was fun". And now since we went to the aquarium and saw all the birds, she says, "birds are scary". So funny. I planted some Lilly and canna bulbs in the front so we will see if they grow.
