Who Loves Packages!

I think one of Dallas's most favorite things is to look out the front door and see that she has a package! And who is it from? Her Nana and Grandpa in Alabama. They are the King and Queen of packages and this rainy week, we have loved getting them. That package right there has 100 balls in it! The girls had a blast playing with them in the bathtum (no water). So fun!

Sound Asleep

After almost a month of the girls giving me the run around for naps, they are finally sleeping! Dallas now loves to sleep in my bed for naps and after finally going to the doctor (and discovering that Brenna had an ear infection), I think the antibiotics are working and she is finally able to sleep. She fell asleep on my lap right after I put her in her jammies tonight, poor thing.

Grand Canyon

Here are a few pictures from the Grand Canyon. As you can tell, it was FREEZING. We pretty much ran to the edge of the look-out points and ran back to the car to get warm. But so amazing to see and we had a great time!

Road Trip

So we are taking advantage of the holiday on Monday and going to Arizona to see family. This is our first road trip since we have had Brenna. We are also planning on taking a detour on the way home to the Grand Canyon. That will be a first for me. There is supposed to be snow there this time of year. Wish us Luck! We will need it!

Peanut Butter Swiper

Dallas and Brenna were enjoying some gourmet peanut butter sandwiches when this little squirrel came like a foot away from us trying to swipe their sandwiches. We did a good job of scaring it though. Check out the squirrel in flight:).

A Great Birthday!

It was such a great day today! We went to church this morning-(Stake Conference, which was great). Nate surprised me with a few goodies before he left for an early meeting. Then he made turkey pesto Panini's for us for lunch~ which Dallas thought was the funniest name ever. We watched a movie and were having a low key day until, the doorbell rings and friends/sister's fam surprised me singing Happy Birthday at my door. They brought with them tons of yummy Enchiladas, Cold Stone cake, Balloons, Salsa, Fruit dip and fancy fun girly presents to spoil me. Definitely made my Birthday. I about cried when I opened the door- especially b/c my hair was in a pony tail and wearing Nathan's knee high white sport socks with shorts:). Thanks for a great day!

GOTTA LOVE LA

I usually don't mind giving a dollar to beggars on the street but when they pop out of no where, that creeps me out! Yesterday, I was picking up ribs for dinner at this yummy place on Crenshaw. Anyways, I was coming back to my car and a guy pops out from behind a dumpster calling me "Mommy, Mommy!" "I need some money!" He aggressively comes to my door and I hurry and get in and shut it. And he is banging on my window saying he needs money. So...I pull out 2 quarters and roll down my window just enough to give them to him and what does he do....HE EATS THEM!  What??? I'm like, Don't eat them! And don't approach girls, it scares them!

So, that adds to my random LA experiences that have included:
1. A Swat Team gathered in front of my house along with about 25 other fireman, police, undercover cars, and K-9 units for about 45 minutes,  all dressed in black with huge guns (not coming to get me but probably one of my neighbors:).
2. Last summer, a van rolled on the 405 freeway right in front of me and I got a BUSY SIGNAL for 911 for like 10 minutes.
3.  When we first moved here, we got ding donged ditched and I was super scared of the neighborhood. I called Nathan to come home and he called campus security to come drive by, which happened to turn into LAPD SENDING A HELICOPTER 2 minutes later circling my place and 2 policeman showing up at my door to give me... the bread that a couple from church had ding dong ditched by.

Happy Birthday Brenna!

Brenna is 1 today! Here are a few baby pictures. This year has flown by! Brenna is the sweetest baby girl! Some things she loves right now are music, balls, books, playing in water, dogs, chasing Dallas, playing with the piano, her pacifier and her family. We are so lucky to have her in our family!

BACK TO SCHOOL

Jan 2nd and Nate is back to school!
He was not so excited about being back, saying it was as bad as going to the DMV (because I really dislike going to the DMV):).
But we celebrated by going out tonight for Chinese...and then Cold Stone. Yum.
