Well, we had our 5th child, and first son, Konrad. He is 3 1/2 weeks old today and this month has been such a blur. We had tons of help with my Mom and Kim when he came and the weeks after. Nathan was so wonderful too- he had more than a week off work just to help. He was my biggest support and this time more than ever. They all made it so I could just recover and take care of Konrad. They made it so fun for the big girls doing all kinds of things -- Kim cooked, sewed, shopped, played uno with the girls. They made blankets and pillows and strawberry jam. She taught Nathan how to make bread and to use the vacuum sealer. My mom has taken care of all carpool duties after school which saves Konrad from screaming in his seat. She took the girls swimming, to the movies, adventureland, and brought over many meals and went to band concerts, and field trips and takes the girls to church activities, the movies, etc.
I forgot what it was like to have a newborn, and I hope I never forget so I can be nice to any new mom. It is HARD and great at the same time! No sleep-you are like a crazy person. You are at your babies beckon call-- meaning no showering, going to the bathroom, getting ready, anything that you like to do normally, is all thrown off and is now scheduled while he is sleeping, that's iffffff you can get them to sleep and actually put them down and them stay asleep. Time with your husband is out the door for now because you are sooo exhausted. Baby Konrad has taken over the Pfister household. Here are a few pictures from the last few days.
