Going to the Pool

So I love that Kona has a free community pool! The girls were soo excited to go. They even have a baby pool, which they call Keiki Pool. Keiki means children in Hawaiian. This walker that Sadie is in someone in the ward dropped off for her. That was the same person who dropped off blow up beds for us to use while we are waiting for our beds to come. And the same family who fed us Sunday dinner last week, had the kids over to play, gave us a table and we bought a couch off of. They have been soo helpful. Everyone I have met here is so nice. A few days ago, I went to Nathan's work and he fixed all my chipped teeth (thanks to pregnancy). The girls in the office babysat the girls and were wonderful. It was great and Nathan did a fabulous job. I have a camera now so I hope you enjoy the picts!

Hula at the Mauna Lani

Tonight we went to a free HULA show at the shops at Mauna Lani--a resort pretty close to us. We even won a FREE GLASS BOTTOM BOAT RIDE for the five of us! Whoo hoo. The girls loved watching the hula dancers, but were wondering why they show their belly buttons:). They had free macadamia nuts and Brenna kept passing them out to all the people sitting around us.
We finally got keys to our rental house. Move in is on Saturday.

Things I have learned here: 1. You call all older ladies "Auntie." 2. "Mauka" is a direction meaning toward the mountain side and Makai means toward the ocean. 3. Electricity is really expensive -- like $250 a month just to run your A/C. And hardly anyone uses it. Even in church. 4. Most people are really friendly here - feels a lot like southern hospitality.

Tidepools

We checked out the tidepools that are about 5 minutes from our house. So fun!

We made it!!

So we have been here over a week now! I can't believe it. It has gone by so fast. Sad to say but I lost my camera, so these are really the only pictures we have out here. We are staying at a condo until we find a place. We think we found one today, but it will probably be a week before it is ready for us to move in. The girls are ready for us to be settled, but are enjoying going to the pool here or the beach. This beach below is called Hapuna beach. We have heard this is one of the best on the island.
I need to get a picture of Sadie. She learned to roll over from her back to her front and now does it all the time. She won't lay on her back for anything! She has also started scooting around forward. She has been able to go backwards, but now she is really moving. A first for our girls, Dallas and Brenna never could do that.
It was a little overwhelming flying in to Kona and driving up to our place we are staying. 15 miles of black volcano rock and ocean. It looks to say it nicely that you are on the moon. But we have driven more around the island and seen some GORGEOUS places. I am excited to see more!

Moving To:

Kona, HI!! We have 1 week left here in CA before we move. Nathan graduated, passed all his boards and found a job on the big island. We are so excited he is done with school! We have been visiting with all of our family here, and in Alabama and Utah and it has been so fun. We will miss everyone so much. But hope to get lots of visits:)!!

New pink glasses coming soon!

I took Dallas to the opthamologist at Children's Hospital this week (see her left eye turning in) and it turns out she needs glasses. She has strabismus and amblyopia (her eyes aren't aligned properly with each other). I never would have known it b/c she always seems to see things fine on a page. But from far away she actually has really poor vision. She also gets to wear a patch 5 hours a day on her better eye to make the other one stronger. Now that I go back and look at pictures it seems so obvious that one eye turned in.

Princesses and Butterflies

Here are some pictures from my niece's 4th Cinderella Party: Darby, the birthday girl is the one with the pretty updo in the Cinderella dress. Brenna did not put down the fingernail polish the whole time. Maybe once for a cupcake. They played in these awesome cardboard castle's Brooke cut out! Such a cute party.
The butterfly pictures are from this weekend too. I love seeing all the butterflies. Dallas wanted one to land on her head so bad, but they only went on Brenna's and Abby's.

Graduation!!

Nathan graduated on Friday! It was really neat. I am so proud of him. He has worked so hard. And is still working hard for another month until boards are over. I almost cried when they called his name out to put his hood on. The girls survived the 3 hour long commencement by playing with their aunt Paula and candy from their Nana & Gpa. My Dad held Sadie almost the whole time which was so nice. I can't believe 4 years has gone by. My parents came in town for the week which was a blast. They lightened my load a ton! The kids were soo happy to see them. They loved getting presents from them, getting books read to them, their nails painted by Nana, eat good food, endless games, going to the park with them, and church, and my Dad even took the 2 older ones to the Natural History Museum. My Mom did way too much--she had major knee surgery only a month ago but still managed to go to the zoo! It was so fun to have her here for Mother's Day. Nathan surprised us both with corsages that we wore to church:).

CAMERA MAN

So Nathan was THE photographer for his cousins wedding this weekend in San Diego! He worked so hard. And the pictures turned out amazing. We were lucky enough to get a night to ourselves. The girls spent the night with their cousin Abby. Soo so nice of them! Here are some picts from this weekend and also a few more from Luke's baseball game last week.
